The morning wind was very similar to Monday, SSE F4-5, but clouds remained after some nighttime rain.
The OD opted to make best use of the breeze, and the lake, sending the faster fleets to the Keswick end, and the others 2/3rds of the way. Several helms thought better of it, and stayed ashore, while some others got to the starting area, assessed the course and conditions, then headed home.
The afternoon race is the Nairn Pursuit, based on an 80 min race time for the slowest fleet. Perhaps fortuitously, the wind is veering more to the SW, so the course may remain in the main bay so spectators can keep an eye on proceedings.
