The only thing the forecasters seem to have got right is the high risk of rain showers, and the wind direction. The high winds overnight, or high gusts through the day have put many sailors off, but yet to come to fruition.
Racing comprises a three race series. The morning wind was not as strong as recent days, and it seemed to ease during the lunch break. However, soon after setting off to start race 2, the wind increased, and several squalls caught out numerous sailors including unplanned gybes, and capsizes.
One gust resulted in both helm and crew falling out of their boat, but they were safely recovered.
By race 3 many sailors opted to call it a day leaving just a small number to venture out.
After racing Heavenly Fish and Chips returned, with an opportunity to dance off the calories at the disco (if they had enough energy?!)
