Saturday 1st August 2026

After a showery evening for the campers, Bass Week 2026 got underway with 110 boats on the water in a westerly F3-4. The rain stayed away, and there was intermittent sunny spells. True to form, the wind shifted regularly to the frustration of the OD (and perhaps the competitors). Quite an eventful day with a few capsizes, a helm falling out of his boat and getting a head wound, as well as a major port/starboard collision.

The evening started with a visit from Shake, Waffle & Roll, to be followed by the commodore’s reception, and some live music.
